Painting a floor is a trick that usually is reserved for turning a floor that is beyond repair into a stunner on a budget. Just remember to use paint specific for flooring so that you don't have to re-paint after every high heel that walks through your house.

really like the nightstands and the grey bed in the 4th one!
Absolutely love the beach house stairs. Makes me wish my stair treads weren't in such good shape so I could paint them a fun color without guilt.
I hate parquet floors, but the painted version is genius.
I love the way a painted floor almost " commands" the attention..
lovely post.
Love it! We have very old pine floors in our bedroom that my husband stripped - but they are 100+ years old, so look pretty beat up. I wish we had painted them! (not that I'll tell him that).
beautiful !!!
love the formal dining room, and the informal muddied boys' room.
w/ exception of the stairs tucked into a recess, these "effects" are dreadful; they chop up the spaces visually & do not respect the floor material.
I love these paint jobs on floors and am about to embark on a similar face-lift job in my own home. Thanks for the inspiration
I was hoping to see something with parquetry, glad I wasn't disappointed! Taking advantage of the blockiness like the 5th picture is genius. We have terrible looking parquetry in the hallways and all bedrooms.
So, I've heard that marine paint is the way to go if you want to do this and have it last. Does anyone know if that's right?
