We've seen all kinds of ways to add color to a room - wall treatments, colorful textiles and accessories, and painted floors. We suspect the least painted surface in any room is the ceiling but don't count it out when thinking about color.
A ceiling painted a bright color might be out of the ordinary but look at the effect it has on this otherwise white room. Besides the obvious tomato red ceiling, the red paint gives off a soft pink glow to the rest of the room. Anybody want to give it a try?

White Enamel Flatwa...
I love this! We have a light blue ceiling in our back porch, but I never would have thought of going so bold.
This is great if you have flat ceilings, I don't know for those who have the textured ceilings like us.
We painted the ceiling in my daughter's nursery a peachy watermelon color. I loved the color, but it looked too "Miami Beach" on the walls. With white walls and wood furniture, the room looks great. I do, however, wonder if my daughter's spirited personality was influenced by looking up at that bright orangey color from her crib for her whole life!
I do love the ceiling painted but with the same colors as the walls. This feels like the wall is coming down on me or heavy for me. But I do adore attention to the ceiling!
This makes me even sadder than usual about my popcorn ceilings:(
