Adding Color Without Painting: Rooms with Colorful Curtains and Drapes

If you're barred from or afraid to add color to your walls with paint, forget the gallons and find yourself some strongly hued curtains.

Colorful curtains will give rental white walls personality without jeopardizing your security deposit. They're also a better investment, in the sense that you can take them with you when you eventually move.

They aren't just a consolation for renters, either. These large swathes of color are less time- and labor-intensive than repainting a room. At their best, colorful curtain can make blanket canvas white walls an asset.
