Just south of downtown, in one of Houston's oldest neighborhoods, is a nearly 100-year-old house. This is Adkins Architectural Antiques, a great source for vintage hardware - or vintage anything, really - and a charming glimpse into Houston's past.
Outside is an extensive collection of garden furniture, fountains, and antique gates, but inside is where the real fun starts. There are multiple rooms devoted entirely to vintage hardware, and one just for stained glass. Upstairs, you can find furniture, antique doors, moldings, and the occasional creepy doll. There are antique Coca-Cola crates, comic books, tools, and vintage postcards. Basically: if it's old, you can find it here. Definitely worth a look-see if you're searching for sources to update an older home, you love all things vintage, or you just want to spend a delightful afternoon browsing.
