With tomorrow being the day I'll finally get to move into my new apartment that I've been dreaming of for nearly a month, I was in no shortage of ideas for how I would decorate my own small space. Since I work from home, any space I occupy has to be optimized for living and working, and I enjoy both serenity and excitement in my interiors. Take a peek and tell me what you think!
Disclaimer: every one of these pieces is way out of my price range—but even though this is a "dream" look, I totally think this style can be done affordably (I'll certainly be attempting to replicate in my new place with my paltry budget). I just love mixing vintage modern with contemporary modern pieces, and then combining all that with earthy yet bold colors. I have an embarrassing amount of craft/sewing/office/art supplies, so I'm always on the lookout for good-looking storage that can contain my stuff. I also have a ton of books, and like the shelves included here for their cool color and customizability. I chose to include a favorite artist of mine, Heather Chontos, because she creates bold, visual abstract paintings that have great color palettes and often feature my favorite items: chairs! Seating was chosen for comfort: plump and with a lot of cushion. I chose a large coffee table to be used for sitting around the floor and dining, too. And I went with an old drafting table as my desk—I have fond memories of playing on my mom's while growing up.
