Aidan loves feeding the ducks at Texas A&M University. Read on for mom Tara's best travel tips: Tara told us: "My best advice is to try to keep up with your child's normal schedule as much as possible. If he/she naps at 1, try to make sure to accommodate that." Favorite child-friendly activity? Our favorite thing to do while there is to walk around the campus of Texas A&M University. It has a great pedestrian campus. We can feed the ducks, geese, turtles and catfish at one of the ponds at Research Park; watch a Texas Aggie football or baseball game; go out to the country (right outside of town) in the spring to see the fields of bluebonnets; go down to Brenham (about 20 minutes away) to tour the Blue Bell Creamery; and have a meal at Royer's Round Top Cafe. Your favorite way to make it feel like home? Bringing along my daughter's favorite bear and blanket helps it feel like home when we go on trips. She also packs her own little backpack full of books that she carries with her into the car or on the plane. Must-have travel item? I never travel without my umbrella stroller. I have a big Quattro Tour from Graco but it's just too bulky for airports or to fit in the back of my car in addition to our luggage. My mother bought us our first umbrella stroller when she took my daughter and me to San Francisco. I discovered how much of a lifesaver it really is for traveling and haven't left without it since then. Thank you Tara. Don't forget to send us your favorite family escape!
