Names/Ages: Penelope (2)
Vacation Location: Okayama, Japan

Favorite Baby or Child Friendly Activity There: Omocha Okoku (Toy Kingdom) - It's like an amusement park, but for little kids. There's an entire section dedicated to outdoor playhouses, there are very simple rides for small children and a small teacup ride and skybike for older children. In addition to that, there are great displays, plenty of room to run and theme houses. The theme houses vary from things like game house, baby play house to Hello Kitty house (where everything inside is Hello Kitty), Playmobile house, etc.

Best Tip for Traveling with Kids: Let them be part of the process - let them pick out which toys they pack, their clothes, a couple of paperback bedtime books.

Favorite Way to Make it Feel Like Home: We brought along several paperback books of our favorites bedtime stories to read at night. I also used a sling to carry my little one through the airport, and that was able to double as her pillow or blankie on the plane.

An Item you MUST Take With You While Traveling: Infant or Children's Tylenol (and/or Motrin). Don't count on being able to find the same or similar product in another country. When my daughter got sick in the Philippines, it took several calls to my in-laws to figure out which medication was used to fight fevers and would be safe for her to take, given her allergies.

Thanks, Hilary!
