Name: Sandra (7.5 months)
Location: Kyoto, Japan at Toji Temple
Favorite Family-Friendly Place To See or Thing To Do Here: Kyoto is the ancient capital of Japan. There are an infinite amount of temples, shrines and zen gardens. We visited the large touristy attractions in our pre-baby days, so for this trip with Sandra we opted to visit the large open temple grounds of Toji, the tranquil zen gardens and temple at Tenryu-ji, the colorful bamboo forest in Arashiyama and over 10,000 torii gates at Fushimi Inari Shrine.

Best Tip for Traveling with Kids: Don't be afraid to remind people you are traveling with a baby! From reminding the airline at check-in (which scored us an additional seat since the flight was not full) to asking a waitress at a restaurant for warm water to warm a bottle we encountered people eager to help us and make our travel comfortable because we were traveling with a baby.

Favorite Way to Make it Feel Like Home: Sandra is fascinated by our phones and she adores the rhythmic sound and bright colors of the Toddler Lock for Android phones.

An Item you MUST Take With You While Traveling: The KidCo PeaPod Portable Travel Bed. We stayed with friends, so it was helpful to bring a crib. It was easy to get Sandra to sleep at night because she was already used to taking naps at home in the crib prior to our trip to Japan. It was easy to get her to bed each night with this travel bed.

Thanks Vikki!
