During our Escapes month on Ohdeedoh, we are posting great photos and tips for traveling with children from our readers. Please check here for all the details. The first twenty submissions posted will receive the official AT bib. Hope to hear from you soon.
Oh my, it looks like Annabel has made a rather alarming new friend. This photo was taken at a small zoo in Naples, Florida, in June of this year. Annabel's mom says, Nothing turns heads like walking around with your two-year-old while she carries a realistic rubber snake from the gift shop! We bet!
Your favorite activity: The beach. This year our daughter, Annabel, wasn't too interested in the water, but enjoyed the sand and looking for shells.
Your best tip: Try and rent a house or condo instead of getting a hotel. We have done this the last two years and it has saved us so much hassle. Our daughter has multiple food allergies and it is very hard to eat in a restaurant with her. Having our own full-size kitchen has made vacations so much easier. Plus we always get a place with a second bedroom so she has a quiet place to nap while we have the rest of the house to ourselves.
How to make it feel like home: We bring her favorite books for reading before nap and bed.
Must-have travel item: The Potette travel potty chair. It collapses to fit in a really small bag and really can be taken anywhere. Those who have traveled with a new "potty learner" will understand how nice it is to have a potty available when your two-year-old has to go NOW and you are a ten-minute walk from the nearest bathroom. I have always been able to find a discreet place or backseat of our car to set it up. I got mine at Amazon.
