During our Escapes month on Ohdeedoh, we are posting great photos and tips for traveling with children from our readers. Please check here for all the details. Hope to hear from you soon.

Ellie and Olivia had fun in the great outdoors of Alaska, but they also took some time to meet the locals of the small town of Gustavus.

The city and location the photo was taken in:
Gustavus, Alaska

Your favorite baby or child-friendly activity there:
Anything outdoors, like picking wild strawberries, beach combing, whale watching, looking for tadpoles...or bears and moose.

Your best tip or words of wisdom for traveling with kids:
If you are flying and sitting in the coach section, request the seats in the first row of the coach section. This gives a little extra leg room and the opportunity for little ones to crawl around a bit if needed.

Your favorite way to make it feel like home:
Since Gustavus is a small town, we met as many of the "locals" as possible, went to story time at the library, and frequented the only grocery store to watch for people that we had just met.

An item you MUST take with you when traveling:
Pack & play for airport layovers and hotel sleeping for our 1 year old
