Many of us use canning jars for just about everything around the home. Their uses are almost limitless, but did you know that with a simple addition they can do even more? Check out the way this repurposed salt pour makes this jar extra functional!
My New Old School has a fantastic canning jar hack that allows you to replace the traditional metal lid with something a little more pour- friendly. Canning jars are great things to hold bulk spices and products like laundry soap, but getting it out can be tricky and usually always requires a spoon or something of the like.
Instead, try cutting the lid off an old salt container (carefully), putting it in place of the metal lid, and then screwing the ring down. This falls into the category of "Why didn't I think of that?" (But all the great ideas do!) Give it a shot next time you have an empty salt container and see if it's a trick that can work for you!
