Q: I swoon over the Marset Pleat Box style of pendant light pictured here. However, I can't justify spending over $1000 on a fixture. I saw another post on Apartment Therapy directing attention to Tom Dixon's designs, but they are also too pricey for my budget.

Can anyone recommend a ceramic light with a gold interior that's at a lower price point?

Sorry I can't answer your precise question, but...
Have you ever thought of getting a white pendant in a shape you like, and then using high-temp spray paint to turn the inside gold? Here is a possible subject:

I found Tom Dixon's Beat light (in black) in a store going out of business for $100. Keep your eyes open.
Alternatively, the suggestion from Charlotte seems good to me!
Yep, Charlotte said what I was going to say. Ikea sells a similar pendant to the one she linked to. I have the Ikea one installed in my house & have thought about painting it myself.
Try this one from Pols Potten

use a gold leaf treatment on the inside of a similar style pendant. It's a simple process that will give you the look your going for.
If you use spray paint make sure you research first. You'll want to use something from a craft store, not from the home improvement store. Also, you'll want to put clear coat over it since many of the gold paint products seem to dull over time and with light exposure. Clear coat will help keep it shiny and vibrant.
Try eBay - I saw Tom Dixon pendants in both white and black, with the gold interiors, from Hong Kong/China vendors for as little as $60 per pendant. I just searched under black pendants, but you could try narrowing the search to Tom Dixon in order to weed out a lot of the chaff.. (Not that chaff is actually weeded.) Here's the link to the particular vendor I noticed: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/251154347863?var=550180238977&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Of course, these must be knock-offs, so quality may be an issue, but for that kind of price it might be worth trying anyway. I've been quite tempted to pick up a couple myself!
I don't mean to diss your target aesthetic at all, but at first hasty glance in my RSS feed these reaaaally looked like a DIY project made from a bleach bottle or similar. So maybe you could craft up an extra-affordable solution? :) Good luck!
I was just admiring a similar lamp at World Market Cost Plus. It was black on the outside & a beautiful gold on the inside. You could change the outside to white....good luck!
It's called the black metal pendant lamp
Very random as they are based in Australia but they may ship Internationally.

We've bought lights from them before. Very good quality and great service.
I diy'd a ceiling pendant very similar for a couple of ceiling lights in my apartment with gold heat safe spray paint ($6) on the inside of a Melodi pendant from Ikea ($9-$19). I went a step further and covered the outside of the pendant with black leather, but for your project, the Melodi is already white!

Simple:

you can try https://www.facebook.com/AtelierA4 The lamps are from treated manual paper. They have a black lamp with gold interior.
If you do paint the inside of the pendants, go to an auto parts store and get spray paint for brake shoes. You can find a much wider choice of colors.
@ginnielizz A DIY project with a bleach bottle! That must have been a very hasty glance.
This would be a really easy DIY.
The Foundary often has knock-off Tom Dixon lights. I bought one in black, but I'm not sure it they have white. They call them Jetson pendant lamps or something.
i blogged about my find a while ago (they were a STEAL at about $30):

You could paint them white, however, the links no longer work so maybe Menards doesn't sell them anymore or they are just not online. Maybe check the store if you have one close to you.
Here's a link to an interview with Tom Dixon about the "pernicious" practice of copying designers' work:

Or do something like this and spraypaint the outside instead...
