Looking around our living room we have a black credenza, a black coffee table, black bookcases and a few black accents. So why are we so afraid of black in the nursery? It doesn't have to be a downer or look like a Goth cave as long as it's used strategically and in moderation. We've found some examples of black done right in our archives - links below the jump.

I love using black...some go with white, I gravitate to black. I especially love the white, yellow and black room!
I have 2 black walls in our son't tiny nursery -- with white LACK shelves, a bright turquoise crib, and fiesta potholder rug (from Romp Brooklyn, made of recycled t-shirts). With the bright toys, the black actually heightens and yet "frames" the colours. It's a very cheerful space.
I love the baby hanging out in the chair. heehee.
I love that pink and black room above -- it actually looks like a fresh take on the now somewhat ubiquitous pink and chocolate brown combination in baby design.
that black, yellow, and white room with the striped ceiling is from domino magazine! i LOVE that issue! it is the president of land's end's son's room. :) yes, i know all that off the top of my head because their home is AMAZING! i could never forget it! the entire house is done in black.
