Coming this fall from Age Design, the Hi-Lo kids chair is designed to seat children from ages 6 months to 6 years. The double height is achieved by a simple button system which allows the chair to be flipped upside down and locked into place at a new height and seat width. When in the high position it uses a tray and supports a young sitter. As the child grows, it will flip around to accommodate a larger child and becomes low enough to fit under a table.
Age Design was started in Canada by Genevieve Grenier and Patrice Guillemin, designers, wife and husband and parents to a young son (who can be seen snacking on the carrot in the photo above the jump). At ICFF, Genevieve told us she created the Hi-Lo after becoming a mother for the first time and that she plans on a large family. She is betting on adding a new piece to Age's line for each subsequent child - so we can expect to see more smart products for kids from this duo as the family grows.
The HiLo is coming this fall, in Asparagus, Carrot, Portobello and Raspberry. It will retail for $425. cdn.
