Ah Ha! by Jeff Mack

Children's Book Review

What can you do with just two letters? Using just "a" and "h", Jeff Mack does plenty. An amiable frog is relaxing on a rock on a hot, summer day, Aahh, when along comes a boy hoping to catch a frog - Aahh!

My son and I laughed through this book with a twinge of anxiety about this frog's fate. With the whole story told through just a few words, pre-readers will enjoy guessing which combination of "a" and "h" will accompany the illustration and early readers can sound out the words. Mack's illustrations are lively and the clever concept never loses steam.
