Ai Weiwei's first major survey in the UK is coming to the Royal Academy of Arts. The exhibition will include 90 tons of the artist's steel work, Straight.
Created in response to the death of many children due to poor construction after the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, the original work is 200 tons of undulating steel. Royal Academy's floors, however, can only handle 90 tons of it.
The exhibition will include works from 1993 to present, including new large-scale installations created for RA.
The show opens September 19 and runs through December 13.
