Taking a cue from the world of high fashion, the studio of UK-based designer Aiveen Daly creates hand-upholstered pieces displaying intricate fabric folds, wraps, ruffles, buttons, and studs.
The collections eye couture fashion and tailoring in their careful detailing, their sense of whimsy, and their adherence to classic lines and forms. Along with the new collections, the studio also re-furbishes vintage pieces using a variety of fabrics from around the globe. See more of Aiveen Daly's work on her website.

Howard Butcher Bloc...
wowee! i love it!
The red plaid chair made me immediately start wondering if I could reproduce that effect in a slipcover...and in a dress. Good stuff.
GOR-GEOUS!
The red plaid chair made me immediately start wondering how I'd get dust and cracker crumbs out of the pleats.
Darn kids.
oh my, that grey chair is absolutely speaking my language. i have no idea how i'll ever scrape together that much $$ for a chair, but i'm certainly trying to figure it out.
That gray chair is breathtaking. I can't stop looking at it.
The blue chair with the "sweater back" is soooo cool and beautiful.
seriously, go to her website, way cooler stuff than what they posted here.
also, there is a chair named the "spank" - GO!
This stuff is gorgeous.
chair in pic #3 is great. chair in pic #1 doesn't look entirely comfortable to lean against
Whoa they have an egg chair that's SO friggin to die for. Damn awesome things costing what they're worth!! I've been shopping thrift stores way too long.
I love it. So many of the pieces combine good bones with interesting upholstery.
Great looking, time consuming, not very practical for furniture but, as I always say, if you love it, it's worth it. Well, worth it if you're doing it yourself. I'll have to do a tutorial on the ruffle back technique.
shelly
@ModHomeEcTeacher: pretty please with sugar on top??!! this might actually make me get off my duff and finally upholster something!
Love, love, love. I've been collecting favorite details, so I could incorporate them into upholstery, slipcovers and pillows - this is Great inspiration!
