
We love this lamp.
Designed by Joseph Graceffa and Dario Buzzini, the 8 AM Lamp was shown last month in Milan. It's a simple task lamp, consisting of braided electric wire and a clamp. (Not just an ordinary clamp: by merely touching it, the light is turned on and off, and the levels are increased.) It reminds us of a favorite, the Prouve Potence Lamp.
But, unfortunately, it's not available yet. The designers write here that although it's now just a concept, they're "pursuing interests from the lighting industry for potential manufacturers," and estimate that the lamp will cost between $180 and $200. Pretty, but it looks as though it'd cause glare issues on the computer screen.
