Alexander Girard at SFMOMA!

Pin it button big

There's no better time than color month to admire the vintage excellence of Herman Miller's ground-breaking textile design director, Alexander Girard.

Many of Girard's folk-inspired, colorful upholstery textiles from the post-war period through the sixties will seem familiar because they've been re-issued by Herman Miller in recent years and are being used by companies like Maximo and DWR to hip up upholstered furniture and pillows.

Girard's playful aesthetic is on display for the color and design delver in you, now through February 25th at SF MOMA's Alexander Girard: Vibrant Modern.
