Primarily known for his textile designs for Herman Miller and his iconic La Fonda del Sol design, Alexander Girard also spent a large part of his life amassing a huge collection of folk art including toys, dolls and icons. Part of his carefully curated collection, now at Santa Fe's International Museum of Folk Art, includes an array of nativity scenes.
Based off of drawings in his son's home, House Industries recently created this nativity scene as an homage to Girard's appreciation of the traditional holiday decor. Each set is a collector's item with 13 solid maple pieces printed with non-toxic inks and made in the USA. They are available for purchase from House Industries for $410.
