Alex's three-bedroom Oakland home also missed the cut-off for the Contest. Check out her two very different rooms here. She says, Honestly, color just makes me really happy. I love how it evokes a response and emotion from people entering the room (hopefully positive!). To me color doesn’t have to be all about flash. While I enjoy the punch of fun, vibrant colors. I also love the elegance of simple muted shades or tone on tone. I think color is used best when it is in an unexpected way. . .
When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I didn’t want to have the typical pastel nursery. To me, a child’s room should be full of life and energy. We wanted our little boy’s room to be fun and playful, just like we knew he was going to be. While we have color throughout our house, it is his room that always gets the best response. And I think it’s because it’s so unexpected. Thanks, Alex!
