Here's a unique juxtaposition of yesterday's decor with today's tech. The home office hails from Alexandria, Virginia, where Alex of DIY blog, Old Town Home, built his own DIY home office project with storage and organization in mind. The result is a snug and stylish workspace combining 1800's detailing with 21st century features, some hidden, other's obvious at the flip of a switch...

Just saw the laser cut desk posted yesterday and love it. We just finished up a series of posts on our own site detailing how we constructed our solid cherry antique-inspired built in desk for our home office renovation. The whole process from rough sketch to implementation was done by my wife and me. We started with stock cherry and just ran with our idea. We were able to maximize storage and efficiency while keeping with the look of our historic home. I also integrated a whole bunch of tech and geek items, like desk lighting and access panels to work on the computer if necessary.
