Alice (5 months)
I was thrilled when I found out I was having a girl, but I'm not much of a "pink person" and I'm not too keen on super matchy-matchy decor.
We had a pretty limited budget, so most of Alice's room was made by myself and/or my husband or were things we already had from our son or around the house. I really hoped to incorporate meaningful pieces into her room, but I was an Ohdeeoh sucker when I was expecting, so I ended up with a bunch of trendy stuff in there, too. We've owned our house for almost two years now, and it is (sadly) the only room that is "finished." Sigh. :)
The crib and dresser are from Walmart; hand-me-downs from her big brother. My husband made the bookshelf from two giant cabinet doors, and we made the animal hook rack. Crib skirt, quilt, pillow and curtain accent fabric is Amy Butler, all made by me. I also made the bumper (now obsolete), mobile, whale lamp (out of a Jonathan Adler incense holder), owl bin, grey stool, bunting, curtain rod (two plastic Christmas ornaments for finials, yo!) and some of the "art."
• White ceramic stool, floor lamp and rug: Target.
• Plain white curtain panels and chair: Ikea.
• Mirror is from a garage sale, spray painted navy.
• Paint: Etched Glass by the now defunct Martha Stewart line for Home Depot.
