Tip for Living Small with Kids: Reduce the clutter! You don't need all of that baby gear many people say you need. Get only the essentials and adjust your space as needed. Living in a small space takes constant consideration of stuff. If you want to bring something new in, you must find a place for it to live...that might mean getting rid of something not as needed.
Biggest Design Challenge in this Room: Having balance between an adult-like room and whimsical feel of a child's room was tough. Using soothing gray with a pop of orange and white works for this space.Finding a space for a full size crib was also an impossibility. We went for a small crib, and have been happy with the results.
Favorite Thing About This Room: I love the hand-painted mural, and that the room seems to be split into a master bedroom and a nursery, yet still have a cohesive feeling
Thanks for your entry Anne and good luck!

love the crib mural.
Adorable, and the storage solutions used are great. One question - this is the second time I've seen the sleek legs on the the Expedit piece used in their storage space, but my local IKEA only has casters as a leg option. Where did you get them?
who makes this crib?
Wow, what a great space! Very inspiring.
aspenchick, the legs look like Capita legs to me. Check them out on the IKEA website. They come in 2 or 3 lengths.
The legs are from Ikea. Capita legs come in different lengths based on your needs.

The crib is made by Bloom. The Alma crib is smaller than a standard size. There aren't many sheets available on the market to fit the matress, but they are incredibly easy to make, even for a novice sewer.
Wow what a great use of space!! Functional and still so cute. This gives me great ideas for my small space. Though just an accent piece, I especially love the little blue pony mixed with the orange decor. Great space for lucky Alina!!
LOVE this. wish i could be this organized!
How is the Alma crib working, size wise? How old do you think your daughter will be when she outgrows it? I love the style, but hear from some folks that it is outgrown quickly.
