This month, national treasure Jeff Goldblum graces the pages of Gentleman's Quarterly to talk about life and how to live it well. The 65 year old actor is as charming, hilarious and deeply odd as you would expect. Writer Anna Peele also reached out to some of Goldblum's friends and co-stars to try and figure out what it is about him that is just so alluring.

The piece is terrific and well worth the full read, and Golblum and co. offered up more than a few bits of advice on living life well we thought we'd share!

You get the sense from his profile that a lot of his magic just comes from some otherworldly source, but there are certainly plenty of good life pointers one can glean and try for oneself.

He has the morning routine of an Insta-influencer, with a twist of course:

  • Wake up early
  • Vocal exercises to prepare for the day
  • Apply vanishing creams
  • Eat cereal with orange juice (as in, replace the milk in your cereal with orange juice)

He treats his body like a temple, but keeps it pretty simple.

"I've always experimented with life enhancement through nutrition. My first wife and I would bring our juicer on planes, and we'd do a carrot cleanse for a week, until I'd turn orange and all my poop would be orange—things that I wouldn't adhere to now. Now I just get a good night's sleep. I wash my face with soap. I like to work out a little bit. I try to eat right. I've stayed clean. I don't really drink or smoke. I try to keep my perspective wholesome."

He finds a way to balance work and self improvement.

"When I was making Adam Resurrected with him, he was reading a book called I Am That, which is written by this Indian guru. Jeff would read that as we were rolling on a take, aloud to me and to himself. And then the second they called "Action!" he'd throw the book in the air out of the shot. — Willem Dafoe

He indulges in a little vanity.

And finally, if you ever find yourself scrolling through your own Instagram pictures or laughing at your own tweets, you can fell less alone, because Jeff Goldblum also engages in similar acts of social media vanity.

"I like to look at #jeffgoldblum on Instagram, which my wife makes fun of. And then I take pictures of the things that interest me"
