• For what it's worth, Plantation's Peacock, $1995. I'll be honest, I think this is weird, like most taxidermy, and certainly don't condone it. However similar birds have been making their way into many notable designs, most recently in Lonny's spread on Celerie Kemble's living room (picture 13).

I love peacocks and have started to collect Christmas ornaments with this theme. But I don't like any of these interpretations. (Except the real bird, and then only when alive, not stuffed!)
The aspect of peacocks that I appreciate and that is missing from the examples shown is the vibrant almost metallic blues, yellow-greens, and blue-violets of the feathers. Simply stylizing the feather shapes in other colors to me misses the point entirely.

SherryBinNH, I totally agree with you. Peacocks are my favorite birds and this post is missing the true beauty of them.
This is my favorite page from the beloved and dearly departed Domino magazine, and I have been trying to execute this look in my home:

We recently did a living room makeover in our house that is Peacock-feather inspired. More focusing on the teal/brown/purples found. I found an amazing peacock rug that is a bit more nontraditional than what they show in the posts above.

Victorians were especially inspired by the peacock...

ameliepoulain - that's so funny that you brought up that picture--that's actually the picture that inspired my re-love for peacock hues. and subsequently this post The product listed in this post are other interpretations, most more modern leaning and not focused on the colors...but I do think that side would make a good post
You missed the beautiful peacock curtains from Pier 1....I love mine!
