Featured in Living etc., Wild's home is a "white box" apartment on the 18th floor of a 1970's apartment building. But there's a lot of color going on here, too. The sofa, coffee table, and dining chairs are black, for instance. The kitchen has pops of color. Bright linens and pillows cover the bed and sofa. Vivid artwork stands out from the clean white walls.
The floors are a natural wood finish instead of painted white. We like the initial shock of whiteness here blended with bold hues and contrasting black. It's a friendlier, more livable take on "all white". What do you think?

I agree that it's more livable. Color is the spice of life. But then again, white is a color, isn't it? :)
They key here is that the Whites are really White - Not Landlord Beige paint, Home Depot Oak Cabinets and Taupe Microfiber furniture...
I love all white interiors. I don't consider this all white as the furniture is not white. The only color I want is my books and my cats and even one of them is all white.

i've loved this house from the first time i saw it! i really wish i could get living etc!
theres quite a bit of color to off-set this house. and all the major surfaces seem like they would be easy to clean- which is what i worry about with going "all white".
I agree it's a more liveable version of all white for it's got other colors going on but if it were me, I'd have chosen something other than black to offset the white and even there, I'd not have quite so white but here it works.
I do find that in some instances/situations, taupe and/or beige can work, but the problem is, it should be used more as a base color or an element to warm things up a little then layer it with bold colors to soften it's potential towards blandness and white can do that too if over done IMO.
@eribear12 - this home was also featured in an issue of Canadian House & Home. It was in the small space issue (i think it's 650 square feet if i'm remembering correctly) which should be the Sept.2008 issue. Maybe you're able to get a back copy?

Very nice apartment and all, but this place has so much of the exact same stuff you see everywhere on this site and in various other "design" related blogs & magazines. I'm not saying I don't like this aesthetic, but it does seem like I've seen this countless times before. It has everything you'd expect, done just right, and comes across - despite the attractive gear - as being not very creative, and a little bit overly fussy.
Also, when will we see the end of the fluffy white utra-shag carpets? They've been absolutely done-to-death at this point IMO.
OK, sorry for being the lone dissenting voice here, but just had to get that off my chest...
Novabass: you may want to consider that the owner/resident has specced out the apartment for themselves, and not for us (or magazine editors). In that light, what does "overdone" mean? Its not like he/she has done it, or has lived in similar spaces "so many times."
Anyone know where I can find a fluffy white ultra-shag rug? I really want one but it can't be a natural hide.
