I'm the first to admit that I have a weak spot for weird art, so it's no surprise that I adore these prints from artist Matthew Buchholz of Alternate Histories. Buchholz's imaginary panoramas of the past feature robots, aliens and tentacled monsters that wind their way up the Washington Monument. Oh, and Abe Lincoln? He was a zombie! What I really like about these prints is how subtle they are. From across the room, you might think you're admiring an antique map with beautifully saturated colors, but up close, you realize you've really been staring at "The 1932 Zombie Killing Games in Los Angeles," a fictional city-sanctioned Olympics that pitted slayers against the undead. Zombie "foot" ball, anyone? Sounds nearly as fun as this artwork.
