Wallpaper headboard from Martha Stewart
We like a headboard; we think it anchors the bed and, thus, finishes off the room. Jonathan posted some alternative headboard ideas during Bedroom Month. In honour of our Curees, who are working on their bedrooms this week (Week 7 -- Yay!), here are some more inspirational photos, we found while surfing flickr, that can help you think outside the confines of a traditional headboard...

You may also want to try:

  • A wide swath of paint

  • Wallpaper, stenciling or another wall treatment

  • Wooden slats nailed together. Lime them to give them that weathered look

  • Hang a curtain rod and gather a length of curtain

  • A gate. If it's long, turn it sideways

  • Although some believe it’s bad feng shui to have mirrors in the bedroom, why not test your luck with this arrangement?
