Name: Althea (1)
Location: Aylmer, Quebec
Having only recently painted the walls of this room white for its use as a spare room, I was loathe to paint it again when we converted it into Althea's nursery. Nonetheless, I knew I wanted her room to be colourful and fun.
Polka dots just kinda happened when the sloped ceiling above the crib made it difficult to hang the beautiful mobile from Aunt April (The Wonderland Studio, Etsy). The solution? I arranged bright and colourful polka dot decals (Wall Sticker Shop) to symbolize her dreams floating up the wall, over the ceiling and leading to the mobile which we then hung above her rocker (fabric - Carousel Designs).
Now that I had the circle deal going - I kept it up! Globes, (including a snow globe my guy brought me back from The Flamingo hotel in Vegas) and an antique capiz shell pendant light added to the mix.
As our little one grows, I think her room is evolving towards a vintage 50's style. We've found some Mary Blair art work from the "It's a Small World" Disney exhibit and my father has recently hand painted a beautiful antique rocking horse he found at a neighbour's garage sale. Now that Althea is getting her animal noises down pat, it's sure to be a hit as she continues to grow into toddler-hood in this room.
Well done - thanks Rebecca!

White Enamel Flatwa...
A one of kind nurser.! I love the all white bedding with the pops of color from the decals and mobile. Also, that light fixture is amazing!
I love how realistic this room is! (Spoken as the proud mother of two under the age of two!) Well done!
Nice light. We've got a paper lantern, this is like a classy permanent take on that look. (That room is a cozy size, too, and mobiles are never a downer!)
Brilliant idea with the polka dots. Looks fantastic!
