AltUse.com: Alternative Uses for Everyday Products

Hey, it happens. You have more than you can use of something, or you bought something you don’t like but can’t bring yourself to throw it away. We try to help you with that, but we can’t think of it all, so we’re happy to have stumbled upon a site dedicated to creative ways to reuse everyday objects….

AltUse.com currently has more than 250 ‘AltUses’ in 21 categories, including household items, garden, health and wellness and pet care. AltUse users can rate each alternative reuse, so a user can be directed to the best rated AltUse method at that time.

Current popular alternative uses include some things we’ve heard of before such as how to reuse olive oil and aluminum foil, to the very unusual such as Aspirin facials, using toothpaste to heal a bruise, and repelling rodents with instant mashed potatoes.

Anyone can submit an AltUse, and to help promote the launch of the website, from July 24-27, the website will reward the best submitted AltUse of the day with a $50 cash prize.
