Name: Amanda
Location: Houston, Texas
Our home has been an ever changing canvas for me. It was your typical cookie-cutter home-white walls, bland cabinets, blah carpet, standard builders grade light fixtures. When we first moved in I changed what I could on a budget-which meant LOTS of gallons of paint.
As the years have gone one I have been able to make changes a little at a time (hardwood floors, custom light fixtures, etc.) It is still an ever changing project. Many have asked me if Im "done decorating" to which I respond you're never "done decorating" your just "always evolving".
Thanks, Amanda!

White Enamel Flatwa...
So lovely! The bedroom looks really relaxing :)
Please share the paint colors, especially the lovely blue and the tan in the close up.
Oh my gosh, if she weren't a fictional character, Betty Draper from "Mad Men" would totally live in this apartment. It's traditional with a '50s/Hollywood Regency twist, has equestrian accessories (she rides), and it has her favored kitchen colors too. It even matches her wardrobe!
I adore the dining room!
A second on the request for paint colors. Love the color in the bedroom and dining room!
check out her blog amanda carol at home.
some of her colors are also listed on favorite

@Strawberry79 Hear, hear. Those dark kitchen cabinets make a welcome change.
Every room looks unique and stylish. I feel like there is a story behind each room. I'm not sure I like the metal cabinet handles in the kitchen. Looks kind of cold -- have you ever considered glass knobs? They can be really cute, I think. I don't know, maybe I am just attached to them because of my childhood. My great gramma had glass knobs in her bathroom and kitchen and I always thought they were pretty -- they were depression pink. Don't think depression pink would really fit this house, but clear might.
My husband got laid off recently and we are between places. SO I cannot do any real decorating or changes to our place as we are renting atm. Hopefully that will change soon. But I digress. I just did a quick google search for some glass cabinet knobs. Lookintheattic had some nice ones. You have a beautiful home and I wish you the best! You seem to really have personalized your place to be calm and pretty. Got any tips on how to make a man's man be okay with the word "pretty" in relation to his house? ;)
So pretty!!!! Can we see more please???
You did a good job and you have a good eye but I am getting an old lady vibe from it.
Im so flattered to see this! but also have to totally laugh because my house has already made changes (for the better) since this posting. I admit I cringed at some of my pics! But like I said "its always evolving" and Im happy to see that its always for the better! Thank you Apartment Therapy for the feature!!
