- What I Love About My Small Home:
- Our apartment is surrounded by windows, which gives a light and airy feel even though the apartment is very small. It also gives us great views of a beautiful neighborhood! I also particularly love the layout. For only 393 square feet, the layout is the absolute best it could be without being a studio. Combining the kitchen and living room, rather than have the kitchen separate, keeps the options open for arranging furniture.
- Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
- First, and most importantly, get rid of anything that is not useful or beautiful. With a small space, anything that is cluttering your home is a hindrance to a beautiful space. I realized I had an excess of clothing that I didn't use, so they were donated.
Secondly: organize, re-organize and organize again! When items do not have their own place, a small space becomes messy quickly. Finding the best possible arrangement for all your things is a continuous work in progress.
Thirdly, get creative with your space. Every apartment has its quirks, and it's all about using them to your advantage. We had an awkward, useless corner of our apartment which was a waste of space... until we were able to turn it into an extra closet.
