- Inspiration for my palette:
- The red and white duvet started the inspiration. I love mixing of lighter blues with red. I planned to stay away from a "typical" pink or purple room for a little girl and wanted my daughter to have a room that felt happy. It's really a mix of brights with buttery yellow, robin's egg blue and red. I have a lot of more traditional furniture and mixing it with brighter colors gives an interesting contrast in style.

- Tips for using color successfully
- When I pick colors, especially paint colors, I always put them up against other colors to see how they look. For example, I have white trim, and sometimes even what may appear to be very light is still very bright and saturated next to my white trim. I find that a lot of paint colors are far too saturated to use in large amounts...when in doubt, go a shade or two grayer or dirtier...it will be a lot easier to live with!

It's great to see another Lakewood, OH poster!
Where did you get this lovely bed? I've been looking forever for a Jenny Lind-style adult bed just liks this.
Pretty.
I wish I could favorite this one more than once because it is REALLY my super most favorite! The bed and bedding are beyond charming, the colors a joy, and all of the handmade toys say "love". The whole room reminds me of a children's book illustration, and that just makes me smile.
You've done a great job making a delightful place for your daughter to grow and play.
I love that bed!
Very nice combo of colors.
Gorgeous! The blue really pops against the soft yellow.
The bed was actually a gift from my grandfather to my parents in the 1960s. He bought it for $10 at a public sale and my dad had it refinished. I took it when I moved out and now it belongs to my daughter!
Thanks for all the nice comments!
I love the light blue and red combo in this room. Nice job!
