Designed by South African husband and wife team, Adriaan Hugo and Katy Taplin of Dokter + Misses for West Elm, I like the compact size and glossy ceramic shade of this table lamp (I'm hoping they'll offer a future version with a wood base option to join the powder-coated steel base). It's an unfussy option for desks big or small, and looks equally nice on or off for a modest price.

Um, sorry, but $80 for a desk lamp is in no way "affordable." Not for me, anyway.
I'll stick with my $9 lamp from Ikea - that has an even smaller footprint than this one!
I just bought (and returned) this lamp from West Elm a few days ago. It's a nice looking lamp and was on sale for $50 at the strore.
I returned it because it is not adjustable like a task lamp. Didn't realize this until I brought it home.
