This nursery space boasted beautiful vaulted ceilings which the designers played up with a focal point chandelier and a unique custom painted wall treatment. The rest of the room is a mix of well-chosen furniture and clever "design hacks." Let's see more...

From the designers: We took on the main floor and nursery for an existing client/friend and while the home is very rustic filled with beams, stone fireplaces, farm house sinks, etc. the nursery is casual, bright, and airy. We designed a custom paint treatment and then implemented it by hand which took over four straight days but it is perfect.

We supplied the majority of items from our retail site Plaid Fox which included the artwork, accessories, pillows, yellow swivel chair, and lighting fixture. The light fixture and swivel chair were not only purchased from Plaid Fox they were designed by our lead designer, Ben Leavitt.

The dresser is from IKEA but we purchased new knobs from Anthropologie to give the dresser a higher-end feel. The crib is from Restoration Hardware and the elephant on the wall is a one-of-a-kind piece that Ben found when he was in India a few years ago. He had no use for it then, but knew it'd come in handy some day. It was originally a mixture of pinks and greens which we painted all white to fit the style of the room. It is made entirely of rope and weighs about 40 pounds. We also figured a white elephant would produce far fewer nightmares for a newborn....

The clients gave no direction, nor had any strong opinion about what we did, but the budget was relatively tight considering the caliber of the rest of the home. This room was filled with design hacks and inexpensive pillows, accessories, and the paint treatment was a huge part of the room which anyone can do if they have the patience and precision to do.

Thanks, Fox Design Studio!
