An Earthy and Otherworldly Space for Baby

My Room

Name: "Tiny Kephart Human"
Location: Small Rural Town, Iowa

Bringing a human into this world feels just as magical and alien-like as it does primal and real. The theme wasn't something I had thought about, but as I was piecing the elements that I had purchased or made together I realized I was in a way capturing the essence of these two ideas.

The space is bright and airy, carrying elements of both earthy tones from plants and nature as well as cool and metallic tones of the moon, planetary shapes and modern orbiting mobiles. I love how the clash of these two things came together to create a modern nursery for our tiny human.

Our biggest challenge to overcome was that we had just moved into this small two bedroom apartment and had under a month before the arrival of our little one was to greet the world to get it all pieced together! Luckily the only hiccup was the ordering of a rug on back order - that we're still waiting on, but otherwise it all came together, thankfully almost seamlessly!
