When we think of hemp fabric, we usually picture something coarse – great in the bathroom, perhaps, but not necessarily something you'd want in the bedroom. Then we came across this eco-friendly bedroom transformation from Nikki MacCallum (aka Nikki Designs) and fell in love. Incorporating a range of hemp-blend textiles, Nikki's bedroom is filled with understated luxury and calm.

We also enjoyed seeing how Nikki repurposed found objects like a mirror and tree branches. You might not be able to get the exact look of those, but you can purchase all of the bedding, pillows, and window coverings, which Nikki makes by hand and sells in her Etsy shop.

1 Organic hemp/silk duvet ($169-209), hemp/silk throw ($62), organic hemp/cotton pleated pillows ($38), organic hemp/cotton pillow cover with piping ($39), and hemp/cotton envelope pillow ($39); the headboard is also covered in hemp fabric

2 Hemp/organic cotton bolster cushion, wall decor found at a garage sale, and cherry tree branches from Nikki's yard

3 Found mirror, handmade shelf, hemp/cotton zen pillows ($25), and organic buckwheat pillows ($35)

4 Organic hemp/tencel curtains ($149) and hemp/cotton roman shades ($109)

5 Hemp slip covers ($62), organic hemp/cotton pillow cover with piping ($39), and hemp/cotton envelope pillow ($39)
