Product: Plaid Doctrine Eco Briefcase
For those of you who are constantly on the road and can’t ever seem to pack light, Plaid Doctrine’s Eco Briefcase could be a good traveling companion for you. We tested out this vintage-style laptop carrier to see how well it held our tech gear. Not only did it fit all our gadgets, but it also kept our accessories organized. One thing’s for sure – this is a sturdy bag that won’t wear and tear.
The Eco Briefcase is not a slim, light carrier. Made from recycled bottles and recycled polyester, nylon and vegetable-tanned leather, this sturdy bag is water and stain resistant and built for durability, not lightweight portability. The eco-friendly bag is vintage inspired but made to hold all your tech gear and accessories with an extra pocket of padding for a laptop. The actual size is larger than most carriers and can easily hold a 17’’ inch laptop. I only have a 13’’ but decided to utilize all the extra space and pockets for travel accessories.
With a separate pocket for folders, pens, small notebooks or chargers, there’s a place for everything in this briefcase. I was able to fit a folder, notebook, two pens, earphones, two Nintendo DS Lites, a Macbook, two books, sunglasses, a charger and a roll of film with plenty of extra space to spare – all the essentials of a weekend or short business trip. The best part about holding all this stuff is that it also keeps things organized so you’re not digging through a messy carrier full of paper or gadgets.
As mentioned before, because of the laptop carrier’s large size and weight, I would only recommend it for someone who is constantly traveling. It even comes with an extra back pocket that can slide over a luggage handle. This would not be an ideal bag to carry on a day-to-day basis or for someone who likes to travel light. However, if you are a tech pack rat who wants some style in a laptop briefcase, this is the bag for you.
- maintains organization
- good for travel
- extra padding and material protects laptop
- made with good quality materials
- big, on the bulky side
- briefcases are plaid or striped, no solid color design selections
The Bottom Line (& Who Should Buy):
Anyone who is environmentally conscious and looking for a strong laptop carrier that will last a long time (and who loves plaid) should consider the Eco Briefcase. It’s an ideal bag for traveling because it fits so many things and you can eliminate your carry-on baggage significantly. I usually have at least three carry-ons when I travel, and the Eco Briefcase could narrow that down to one. Unlike the generic black or gray laptop carrier, this one packs a lot of durability and character.
