An Empty Nester's Well-Deserved Renovation

Professional Project

Project by: Michael Jerome
Location: Woodland Hills, California

From designer Michael: After 40 years, an empty nester's 1950s rancher gets a well-deserved renovation. The kitchen was completely gutted and walls removed to expand the galley kitchen. Warm, cherry wood cabinetry was mixed with high-end appliances and fixtures.

Well-preserved and sentimental furnishings were combined with contemporary pieces to update the living and dining rooms. A nod to its mid-century beginnings and maintaining the home's rustic nature was highly important to the client and one of the challenges that we were happy to take on.
