Way back when the lilacs were blooming, we wrote about stylist Chelsea Fuss' beautiful table settings for Project Wedding, but now that it's Outdoor Month and you're planning your summer parties, her inspiring ideas are worth another look. The latest installment in the series is this gorgeous "herbal table"—can't you almost smell it through your screen? We've seen herbal bouquets before, of course, but this particular table is just so simple, abundant, and pretty... and of course, since you can grow the herbs yourself, this is budget-friendly and Earth-friendly décor!

Chelsea chose very cheap and simple glass cylinder vases for her oregano bouquets, then wrapped them in burlap to lend a little rustic charm. (Stick-on velcro was her clever solution for wrapping the burlap, but a hot glue gun will do as well.) A mixed herb nosegay decorates each place setting, and beverages in mason jars are garnished with mint leaves.

We love how simple the linens and dishes are on this table... clearly, you don't need fancy china or crystal to create an elegant meal. Plants and flowers can really do most of the work! If you're going to make herbal bouquets garni for each place setting, be sure to keep them in water right up until party time.
