We're sure you've made a mental wish list of all the expensive tech goodies you're saving up serious cash to buy (A new DSLR camera is on ours). But just as unattainable is our other mental list—our impossible tech wish list. They're devices and gadgets that we wish somebody would make. Check out our choices and add your own when you click through.

As far as we know, none of these things are available on the market. But if they were, we'd snatch 'em up in a heartbeat:

  • An always-on-the-cool-side pillowcase.
Nothing is worse than waking up in the dead heat of summer with a sweaty neck. We've tried a few pillows that (falsely) promise to stay cool, but the perfect temperature is always found on that unattainable "other side." Why can't somebody make a pillowcase with temperature sensors on one side and a powered cooling fabric on the other?

  • Cher's closet automation system from Clueless.
In the movie, Cher turns picking out an outfit into a video game with software that catalogs her clothes and closet automation that brings the matched ensemble front-and-center to the closet doors. I guess in theory, it's something attainable if we spent the time and moolah to have several different construction and IT pros re-vamp our closet. But we'd really like for a no-brainer Ikea version of this catalog system.
  • Windows that dim when unwanted guests show up uninvited.
We've gotten to the point in technology where we can make windows appear out of nowhere and computers that unlock when they sense their owners near. Why can't we have windows that appear to show closed curtains when your in-laws pull into the driveway?
