We may not recommend placing shelved items above your bed here in Los Angeles, this being quake country and all. But we do highly recommend taking note of this colourful sleeping nook from the pages of Marie Claire Maison that combines the French design sensibility with Indian patterns and palette. Note, that's two single Indian beds with two mattresses zipped together, creating a rich and cozy Darjeeling Express to Snoozeville in a space where a large mattress wouldn't normally fit. This might give you a good reason to take a trip out to Little India in Artesia to create your own version.

And check out the different style of beds from ancient sculptures and scriptures of Karnataka, India. Who knew water beds existed that long ago. We're especially fond that they actually had beds specifically designated for "romancing", although the hanging cot looks a bit more fun.
