Looks like this family has moved on up to the East Side Village and into this deeee-luxe apartment in the sky. In fact, they've coupled two apartments into one duplex connected by this incredible half-tube slide. We've seen so many amazing indoor slides lately that they may be moving from 'awesome anomaly' territory to trendy.
This 2,400 sq. ft. residential project (which also includes a terrace putting green) is the work of Turett Collaborative Architects in New York. You can see more photos on Design-Milk (worth the jump, we promise).
As evidence of this new architectural trend, I've rounded up more fantastic indoor slides we've shared in the past from serious, big bucks, architectural projects to one in a more modest, "normal" home to a very small one you can buy for your own living room (with admittedly less "wow" factor). You can find the links to these posts below each photo.
It's fun to fantasize about a slide at home, but right now I'd settle for some warm weather to enjoy some outdoor playground slides!

White Enamel Four-P...
Pretty indulgent architectural change for something the kids will be entertained by for what? 8 years?
If these were incorporated into perhaps daycare or school facilities... well, i might see the point.
I totally agree.
we saw one in a small town in western tuscany exiting the 2nd floor of what looked like a preschool, it twisted and turned all the way down to the 1st floor...with steps paralleling it...for the teachers, I guess!
I love the idea of an indoor slide especially since we live in WI so vigorous indoor play would be appreciated. They would be fun in a daycare/school but they'd have to be so padded and safety enhanced the slide wouldn't actually be fun anymore.
The big slides make the little slides look...wack! I personally like the idea of the indoor slide going alongside the staircase. And can see myself preferring to use it, every time!
To me this is a functional architectural change. I'd rather have this than an eve, gable, or interesting roof. You know? You could even send your laundry down it, not just your body!
I get so discouraged every time I see a post about indoor slides and people rail on about the impracticality and limited use of it. Are there no adults, like me and my husband, that would enjoy taking the slide downstairs a few times a week? No? Anyone...?

I'm 41, dude, and I love to slide. I also use my kid's trampoline! Quelle horreur! I like to swing at the park and do flips off the monkey bars. It's not a bad idea to bring some of those active elements indoors and have fun.
When we build our next house, it's totally having a slide. And a secret room.
And by the time it's built, the children will probably be in their teens, and 'too cool' to slide.
But I won't be ;)
Every house should have a slide.
I would totally use an indoor slide and I'm 31. My mom would, too, and she's almost 60!
I always say that the first house I buy will have a swing and a slide, and people ask how many kids I want o_O You're never to old for a swing or a slide.
The only time this is an impractical addition is if it is built for young children, size-wise.
Better than electronic gadgets to enhance the number of hours in a day they're sitting on their tushies.
I've always wanted to buy and renovate an old firehouse and keep the sliding pole with padding/pillows down below for the kiddos (and myself, who am I kidding??)
A friend's aunt had a fireman's pole installed right beside (or in the middle of, I can't remember) the spiral staircase.
sliding would be a lot better for your knees than taking the stairs.
These are so much fun! Now my kids have this on their list for our dream house! So do I!
I wish I had room in my house for a slide and a swing. Heck, I wish my yard could have a slide and swing. Sure I have 2 kids, but how much fun would it be to go from one floor to the next on a slide?! A bad mood would be wiped out immediately!
Love people's interest in this trend as it's time we started redesigning our homes to be fun & complimentary with changes in our lifestyles. Do we need bathtubs in master bathrooms or dining rooms, things we rarely use?
