When a Shanghai-based designer with experience repurposing trash into furniture decided to take in an abandoned dog, it makes sense that the dog would receive a recycled home of its own. Check out Chuichui's new pad, inside an old Bosch refrigerator.

Designed by studio Y-town, this sectioned doghouse is made from an old Bosch refrigerator that has been turned on its side and outfitted with cushions, a sloped roof, and even an entrance ramp. Y-town is better known for redesigning and recycling waste materials including billboard posters and clothing into furniture.

Shaw's Original Fir...
that is seriously one of the saddest things i've ever seen - poor dog!
yuck.
Hmmm. I actually like the idea....not so big on the execution though.
I think it's sweet! He looks happy - has a safe place from which to survey his kingdom. It would make my dogs happy! :)
I love it! I think I might have removed the little divider/shelf things to give the dog more room on the other side, though. I love seeing things like this re-purposed rather than thrown in a landfill.
Wow. That is cool (pun intended). I'd appreciate if more people took in abandoned animals instead of buying from breeders. "Older" cats and dogs (they're considered old if they're over a year old, even though cats can live into their 20s or even 30s nowadays) are even more likely to be destroyed because people only want kittens and puppies until they're no longer cute.
Love the doghouse. I think pup might need a larger, more dog-focused house when he or she gets older, but who knows. Some animals prefer what's familiar to them.
I agree with stpetecoyote - great idea, but looks like something you'd see on Hoarders.
The dog is NOT shut in the refrigerator ever!
No one would be so cruel as to shut an animal in a small cage, even for few hours!
The fridge is just a shelter for the dog.
Seems like it'd be hot, no cross ventilation.
But kudos... for recycling and for adopting a furry friend in need.
