Here's a great DIY project for all you Big Kahunas. This outdoor shower made with old surfboards is featured in one of our upcoming Green Tours from Santa Monica, California. Hidden away in a discreet corner of the back yard, the shower adds a dose of surfer-style to the pool area, and makes a great place to clean up after a long day riding the waves. A retired longboard supports the shower head; its sliced-off tail end forms a shelf for things like soap or a razor, and its fin became a towel hook. A wall made from a trio of old surfboards and a simple wooden frame offers privacy. And the run-off waters the nearby vegetation. A few extra boards hang on the adjacent wooden fence, completing the look of this totally rad outdoor oasis.
