Modern planters might look amazing, but usually their price tag doesn't. This model has stylish good looks, but it holds a deep dark secret: it wasn't always a planter!
Heloisa Fiasco was visiting a local IKEA and happened upon a pendant lampshade in everyone's favorite handyman/as-is section. Instead of putting it to use with a lamp cord, it was placed out back on the deck and used as a planter.
The hole where a cord and light bulb would normally string through makes a perfect drainage hole and the steel shell of this once BRASA pendant holds the dirt and flowers without flinching. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled next time you're out and about, because you never know where your next modern planter might be lurking!

I often repurpose Ikea trash cans as planters. It's a much cheaper way to obtain mod looking materials like brushed metal, and they're often taller and slimmer than their planters-by-design, which makes for a sleeker look. Just this week I got a KNODD and a RUNDEL for big potted plants, and they look great!
Sweet! I was looking for a planter much like this one.
Even cheaper and looks very similar--the stainless steel mixing bowls from IKEA. Drill a hole in the bottom and you're done.
@violetveil....yeah but it involves drilling! some of us are too lazy even for that :D
