We don't instantly think of sea glass when it comes to the holidays. But this wreath made of the soft-edged, blue-hued material makes all the sense in the world:
The glass pieces as used in the Sea Glass Wreath from L.L.Bean remind us of wintry ice. While sea glass is a remnant of the ocean, this wreath speaks more to glacial peaks and crystaline icicles. What a perfectly suitable wreath to add something unique to the front door during the holiday season. Priced at $89 with free shipping right now.

Ercol Bar Stool
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous - would it be very heavy?
I am so impressed by the person who made this. It would have taken quite a long time to collect all of that sea glass and then string it together. Just amazing!
Holiday giveaway please?
i love this. when i was a kid my grandmother and i would go to the beach and look for sea glass, and this wreath brings me back there. thanks for sharing.
It's pretty, and wouldn't have to be only for Christmas. Some people hang a season-appropriate wreath on their front doors year-round.
Many manufacturers are calling this stuff sea glass when in fact it's simply broken up, tumbled glass. REAL sea glass is collected on beaches and is so obvious in its appearance, the way this is obviously NOT sea glass. Check out http://seaglasslovers.ning.com for more information.
These are mass produced, not by a local crafts person and yes, it would be quite heavy.
I'm glad they aren't "harvesting" all the sea glass though!
Pretty, pretty, pretty! I want one! (Don't care it's not "real sea glass" -- am glad it would be impossible to find that much real sea glass because it means people aren't throwing so many bottles away in the ocean)
I think I now know what to get my Sis for Xmas this year!
Wow....so different and can be used year 'round.
Pretty. I know someone who would love this!
My beach-wreath attempt is going to be from driftwood we collected (free!).
I have to agree with veslabeachgirl, so much is now marketed as seaglass which really isn't. It is pretty, but pretty pricey for tumbled glass. Great DIY
Really cool idea!!!
In the DIY world, it would mean, a very structurally heavy wreath, with lots of drilling (numb hands!), and an unreal deal of patience to get all the glass you need from the beach (if ever)... so get ready to break some bottles and use some acid!
besides, that... yes, it is still cool and i actually love it!
