Name: Ana
Location: New York, New York
I'm a furniture designer and decorator from São Paulo Brazil. I used to own a decoration store there. I moved to NY august 2010, with my husband, who is doing a Film masters at Columbia. I decorated our apartment here, it is super cute, fun, romantic, colored, full of prints.
Most of the furniture isfrom ikea, there are also some vintage, some personal things that I brought from home. Some of it is my own design and art work from my artist friends from Brazil and NY as well. It is a high low mix, which is not super easy to do, but it works. It looks already as if we lived here for a long time!
Thanks, Ana!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Totally love.
Love the table! I have the same from Ikea and it was a great purchase for me. I'm going to try shelving over my bed as well. Thanks for the post.

That's the most sophisticated and fun use of an accent wall (the orange one) that I have ever seen. Not just "I need color SOMEwhere because I'm scared of neutrals/my space is too big and empty feeling", which is usually what accent walls say to me, but really thought out, in a way that so complements the rest of the apartment that it feels necessary.
Alice in Wonderland pillow! Leopard armchair. Cosy. Inviting. Nice. x
I like the mismatched nightstands. I've never been a fan of matchy-matchy bedroom sets, even when they were in style!
The little yellow end table in the living room is very cute.
You cannot go wrong with a white couch, darker colored wall and boldly striped rug. Very nice.
I love seeing the IKEA Stockholm Rand rug in AT posts :) I have it as well in my living room so its nice to see how others style around such a bold rug!
bem que eu estava me sentindo "mais em casa", lindo! parabéns! bjs cariocas!
It is so cozy and warm and very colorful...good job...Adorei...
so-so-so-so-so-so-so cute!
LOVE the LOVE stool. I want one!
Not my style, but totally love this.
I love it. But, I'm curious, I was always told that red walls bring out someone's anger, I wonder if that's the case.
Oh and I love love love the wallpapered wall in the bedroom!
what a great place to come home to after a long dreary day at work.
Ditto what katlia said...I love your home and I've added it to my 'Inspiration' folder! It's so warm and inviting - love it! :)
very homey
Love this! Especially all of the little Disney bits and bobs poking out in the bedroom. Thumbs up!
the bold wall color makes such a huge impact! Beautiful!

@ach, my theory is that people who are used to color aren't likely to react in anger. I think it's when a red wall is perceived as highly unusual or out-of-place that it can provoke a threatened response.
This house is much more human than so many other places with stark white walls, where regardless of how cool the furniture is, the place just looks unfinished, unwelcoming. I think your sense of how MUCH pattern (and color) is incredibly perfect. You truly have the magic touch!
@ach, The former red in my dining room made me angry but only because it was so hard to cover up!
This red looks great. I love the decorating style too, much validates my own organized chaos type of decorative narrative (i mean that as a compliment!).
Where did you get the love stool? Or did you make it?
I want to explore all of the art work and textiles in the bedroom!
did you make that Love Is All You Need pillow? it's so cute. your apartment makes me happy :)
Ana I'm from Brazil too, home of great designers. Love your apartment and your bedroom looks so cozy, everything else: muito lindo!!! When could we have "um cafezinho" in this so sweet living/dining room? Love it!
Dear AT readers-- thanks so much for the compliments! In fact, I designed the love stool (it's hand embroidered!!) and the Alice in Wonderland pillow as well (it's part of a home collection I designed for Walt Disney). Fun fun fun! Love how your personality is everywhere. What is the Snow White thing on the bed, I can't tell, it looks like it's standing up? thank you
I think it's a very cleverly placed Snow White sticker holding the "apple" on her Mac laptop. Cute!
