And the Readers' Favorite Room Is…

The Inside Man

Earlier this week, I asked readers which of the five "Inside Man" room re-dos they liked best, so now it's time to reveal your favorite. Envelope, please. And the "winner" is… drumroll…

DAVID'S ROOM! I think each of the rooms suited the guy and his city, but David's Brooklyn living room — in layered shades of gray — was the runaway favorite with 244 votes, followed by Barney's LA loft with 159. Here's a glimpse of what readers had to say about each of these spaces.

David's living room in Brooklyn, before and after

>> David's Blogger Brownstone

I really loved David's LR. Interestingly, in the early stages I thought it would be... meh. Happy it turned out so spiffy. – kushkush

Jarrett's basement in Chicago, before and after

>> Jarrett's Bungalow Bar

I gotta go for the bar – It had almost Nothing in it and Zero function – yet it became a great & inviting space primarily from the use of color. – bepsf

Barney's loft in Los Angeles, before and after

>> Barney's Pop Art Loft

I voted for Barney's loft, great color choices with accents of black. They were all great redesigns, but I felt his made the most dramatic statement. – designer22

Michael's living room in Dallas, before and after

>> Michael's Design District Home

I liked Michael's..lots of family and meaningful memoribilia. Isn't that what "home" is all about? – Jolarry

James' bedroom in Atlanta, before and after

I loved aspects of the bar and the loft, but the purple paired with the warm wood furniture in James' bedroom really won me over. – MisaL

>> James' Treehouse Bedroom

Thanks, everyone, for voting and for giving such helpful feedback! And thanks, of course, to all the guys who graciously opened up their homes to me and my team. I loved this project, and it's been an invaluable experience that's taught me a lot. :)
